1.  Everything Is Within God's Tawwakul, God's Responsibility

Our entire Life and Everything that happens to us is conducted by Allah, not by us. He is the One who carries out Everything. He is Responsible for the Cause and the Effect. (From the Epilogue, on page 140, in the book, "Islam and World Peace - Explanations of a Sufi).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
2. God Looks At Our Love, Our Oneness With Him, Not At What We Give Him

If you lovingly give milk to a cat, it closes its eyes and stealthily drinks. But if you Love God, He will open His eyes, look at you, and embrace you with Love. He will open His heart and His eyes and embrace you. He will not look at the milk. He will look at your Love. He is the One treasure alone worth loving. (From the book, "My Love You, My Children, 101 Stories", and in the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship Calendar for June 1998).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
3.  God Must Do God's Work, Not Us

We must say (to God, with each breath), "We do not want God's work. You must do Your work Yourself. Then all the faults and credits from it will be of You. It is not something of me."  We have to give each one of our breaths into His responsibility and then we can escape. Only then can we see. (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 66 and 67)
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
4.  How To Act (1)

Do not look at the world and run behind it. Do not look at a book and run the way it tells you to. Try looking at yourself and run in that direction. And before you run, try to understand your senses. (From the book, "Questions of Life - Answers of Wisdom", and in the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship Calendar for May 1998).

5. How To Act (2)

Do not run after happiness and comfort; understand what sorrow is and what joy is and then walk warily. Do not believe that everything is tasty. Before you eat you must know that some things are wrong, and some things are bad for you. (From the book, "Questions of Life - Answers of Wisdom", and in the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship Calendar for May 1998).

6. How To Act (3)

In everything, you must know the right and the wrong. Don't marvel at the things you see in the world; the world is only a small dot, a small point. Look at yourself, understand yourself, and marvel at what you see there. (From the book, "Questions of Life - Answers of Wisdom", and in the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship Calendar for May 1998).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
7. How To Live (1)

Live with the faith that your body and your soul do not belong to you. Then God will share the suffering that comes to you. Place your trust in God all the time; in every moment say, "O God, this is Your property. Your duty". (from the book, "Golden Words of a Sufi Shaikh", and in the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship Calendar for May 1999).

8. How To Live (2)

One who was born as a man and has lived as a man will exist in this state. For whatever happens he will say with contentment and gratitude, "All praise belongs to God, Al-hamdu lillah". For what might come in the next moment, he will say, "It is Your responsibility, O Allah, Tawakkul-'Allah," and praise Him. (from the book, "Golden Words of a Sufi Shaikh", and in the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship Calendar for May 1999).

9. Journey of Our Life Within The Shaikh (1)

My children, my daughters, and my sons, you are now traveling on the journey of your life, from the east to the west. You are traveling across a huge ocean of illusion, through jungles, deserts, and forests. This is the Journey of Life on which you will experience many difficulties, joys, sorrows, loses, heaven, and hell. (From the book, "Shaikh and Disciple", page 9).

10.  Journey of Our Life Within The Shaikh (2)

My children, there is a reason for undertaking this journey. You are in search of something. On the Path to God, there is only one point in life, there is only one thing to search for - Wisdom. You must proceed on this Journey searching for Wisdom, and you must attain the liberation of your Soul. (From the book, "Shaikh & Disciple", page 9).

11. Journey of Our Life Within The Shaikh (3)

You must cross over the Sea of Illusion, the Sea of Desire, the Arid Desert where nothing grows, the Mind and Dreams which are barren, and the Jungle filled with animals. There is nothing to be seen in all this. These places only exist in the Mind, and you must go beyond them all. (From the book, "Shaikh & Disciple", page 9).

12. Journey of Our Life Within The Shaikh (4)

To do this, you need a Gnana Shaikh. Only a Shaikh can point the way to God through the use of a Special Map. (From the book, "Shaikh & Disciple", page 9).

13. Learning To Protect The Life of The Soul From The Enemy of The Soul,
From The "You" of Separation And Differences, From The Enemy Within

You must know the type of life you need to nurture - the life of the Soul. The Wisdom you receive from the Shaikh should be able to protect the life of your Soul. Through that state of Wisdom, you must be able to know and protect the Purity of that Hayat. There are many deep meanings in this (from the book, "Shaikh & Disciple", page 23).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
14. Live As Little Children, As Unity & Love, Not As Separation And Differences

When we live as little children and behave as little children, what do we find? We find peace and tranquillity. We find the unity and love which embraces everyone. We may totter and fall while embracing each other, but we will do so in unity and love.
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
15. Look Within Yourself, As "One With, Not At Yourself As "Separate From"

See what is within you. You are not as you are seeing yourself. Discard this and look within yourself. Scratch what is within that". This is what the Shaikh will tell you. That is His job. (From the book, "The Wisdom of Man", page 48).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
16.  The Most Difficult Task In Life Is To Find And Understand A True Man

At this point (in my journey - His Holiness tells us), I realized that the most difficult task in life is to find a True Man among the created beings. To find a True Human Being and to understand Him is very difficult indeed. Only after realizing the True Man and God within myself could I perform True Meditation. I had to understand the cage of this body. Outer acts are not real. I had to find the place within to perform True Meditation (from the book, "Shaikh & Disciple: Introduction", page 5).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
17.  Nature of Gnanam or Divine Wisdom

There is something called Gnanam. If each breath praises God, that is Gnanam.
Accept That. When you think about it, and see it with your Wisdom, then you will say, "Oh God, Oh my God, all praise belongs to You." This thought and this intention will go to Him. Each and every word will go to Him. Every word and every breath will praise Him. Each breath will continue to praise Him. How could He leave us and go? How could He be far away from us? When every word is His Word, how can He leave us?.
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
18. Nature of Wisdom (1)

You can understand what God is like only by understanding through Wisdom. Only then can He be meditated upon. He can be worshipped, and He can be praised. But as long as God is not known, and as long as the self is not known, what is there to meditation? What are we to worship? What is the thing that worships? (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 64).

19. Nature of Wisdom (2)

When you say, "worship", you must understand what it is and then worship. Only when you know what it is can you call it worship. (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 64).

20. Nature of Wisdom (3)

All the things that are done before cannot be called meditation. Only after the Light comes can the explanation of worship be given. That is television. It is something that is shown when one's Wisdom has come. (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 64).

21.  Nature of Wisdom (4)

Then you show it and say, "My brother, this is the Father, this is the Mother, this is the Sister, this is the Daughter". This can be shown. Then you say, "Good morning," and you greet and hold onto it. (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 64).

22. Nature of Wisdom (5)

It does not take a long time afterwards. But first we have to understand who we are, and who our Father is. That is what worship and meditation are. This is the Truth. This is real. This is something that you directly see, that you directly communicate with. It is something that you embrace and love. This is the way. (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 64).

23.  Nature of Wisdom (6)

The truth is like this. If that consciousness arises, if Wisdom comes, you may see your Father and talk to Him. That Vibration will come and you can see this world with the entire 18,000 universes within it. (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 64).

24. Nature of Wisdom (7)

You can see what is in the ocean, you see what is in heaven, you can see what is in hell, and you can see satan. You can see outside, you can see inside, and on all sides it will become clear. You can talk, and you can communicate. That is the Truth. That is the television. It is something you directly see. (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 64).

25. Nature of Wisdom (8)

For that you need Wisdom. For that you need the Divine Qualities. You need forbearance and tolerance and faith. It is God's Qualities that are described as God. If these Qualities emerge in us, if Wisdom emerges in us, then when you apply the Divine Qualities, and turn the knob of the television, you will see. (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 65).

26.  Nature of Wisdom (9)

The entire universes, everything, may be seen. You can talk with everyone. You can make the earth to rise up and talk with you. You can command maya to come, and you can ask her, "What are you doing?". (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 65).

27. Nature of Wisdom (10)

You can call satan and say, "What is this"? What are you doing? You do not seem to have any light. What is the matter?" You can talk to him. You can call the sun and ask, "What are you like?". You can call the moon and ask, "What are you?. You can directly talk to things. They will take form and tell you. "This is what we do. This is what we are." You can do this. (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 65).

28.  Nature of Wisdom (11)

This is what Divine Wisdom is, my brother. And this is what the truth is. This is the Divine Power. And this is the work of the Prince of God. Not the other section. You have to turn it upside down and see it like that. (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 66).

29.  Nature of Wisdom (12)

It is difficult, but we have to turn our life the other way around. That is the meaning, and that is the way the Truth is. This is my personal experience. (From the book, "Truth & Light", page 66).

30.  Our Work In Partnership With Our Shaikh (1)

We have to discover what is hidden within this body. This is what we must learn from a wise man of purity. We must learn this from a pure Father who has a pure heart. To do this, your unity and faith must be strong. Children, you must have purity of heart to learn from the purity of the Father. The Secret of God, our Father who is purity, must be learned with pure love, pure faith, pure compassion, pure unity, and a pure life. This is the only way we can learn and understand that purity, that meditation, that prayer, and that learning. (From the book, "Shaikh & Disciple: Introduction", page 7).

31. Our Work In Partnership With Our Shaikh (2)

If each one of you establishes and understands this state within, then the connection between you and your Father can easily be established. You can conduct your life with ease, and understand all you need to know. You can understand the life in which wisdom, good deeds, our Father, and the children live together. (From the book,
"Shaikh & Disciple: Introduction", page 7).

32.  Our Work In Partnership With Our Shaikh (3)

When love, wisdom, and unity are all together, that is the heaven of gnanam. The children of the pure Father will live in the paradise of gnanam. That is firdaus, our Father's pure kingdom. We will be given the radiant kingdom of our Father as our
prize. (From the book, "Shaikh & Disciple: Introduction", page 7).

33. Our Work In Partnership With Our Shaikh (4)

You must understand this pure place. When you can establish this within yourself, and demonstrate proof of its existence, then your Father's kingdom of wisdom, love compassion, peace, and iman become yours. These are some of the things I have learned through experience. My love you. Think about this. May Allah help you. Amin.
(From the book, "Shaikh & Disciple: Introduction", page 7).

34.  The Justice of God Is That "Whatever We Intend Is What We Receive"

Man will be reborn as whatever idol he prays to or places his intentions upon, and whatever form he gives life to in his heart .... being ruled from within by animals. (From the book,"The Wisdom of Man: The World Within And Without", from pages 67 & 73).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
35.  Song of "The Muhaiyaddeen" When It First Came To His Holiness

He is the Ray resplending from the Sun. He is the Ray resplending from the Sun, in all of the created beings, each one. All of them receive His Grace through His Quality of Grace. Coming as the Guru of God to all the Lights on earth, O Father, becoming Good Qualities by fasting for 12 years (from the book, "Truth & Light", page 106).

36.  Song of The Qutb To The Nur Muhammad, To The Wish Fulfilling Tree,
The Katpaha Virudcham, The Innermost Heart of A True Man

O God, You are the Katpaha Virudcham, The Pure and Perfect One, the Father of the soul. You are the Most Merciful and the Most Compassionate, the Rahman and the
Rahim. You are the One who feeds us, and it is You who must send the food that will fulfill the needs of all these creations. (From the book, "A Mystical Journey: The Shepherd and The Tree", page 13).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
37.  Take The Point And Leave The Rest

The difficulty lies in trying to carry things away from the earth, and in trying to surrender these burdens to Allah.
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
38. The World Is The Falsehood of Us Covering The Truth of Us

When Allah loves us, the world will drive us away. But when the world accepts us, we will not be acceptable to Allah. This is a sign we can see. If you desire and accept the praise of the world, Truth will not accept you, and if you desire Truth, the world will not accept you. All who have wisdom must realize and understand this. (From the book, "Golden Words of a Sufi Shaikh", and in the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship Calendar for September 1998).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
39.  Things That Are Useless To Us

Your body is small; in comparison, the world is much bigger. But your mind is even bigger than the world, your desire is even bigger than your mind, and all your karma is still greater than that. This is the sum total of your dreams. These things are useless to you. When you go to a Shaikh all these have to be burned away. (From the book, "Shaikh & Disciple", page 16).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
40.  Transcending Death And Joining True Life Through Wisdom

Now you have life, but death will follow. However, if you have Wisdom, you can transcend death. If Truth is within you, there is no death. There is no point in just having life. That is not enough. You need the Nur, the Light of Wisdom. Only then can you benefit and grow. Then there will be no death. (From the book, "Question of Life - Answers of Wisdom", and in the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship Calendar for November 1998).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
41.  In True Hajj Only Allah Remains, The World No Longer Exists

This is Hajj. To go to the place of Allah and obtain the Radiance of Eternal Life, which is Allah, to obtain the wealth of Allah (daulat), and beyond all that, to worship only Him, to love only Him, to praise only Him, and to sing only of Him. This is true Hajj
because in that state only Allah remains, the world no longer exists.
(From the book, "To Die Before Death - A Sufi Way Of Life").
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
42. The True Value of The Shaikh Is Only Found On The Journey

If people can understand both the troubles they experienced earlier in their lives and the comfort and joy experienced later after meeting the Shaikh, then they will realize the True Value of the Shaikh. Without this awareness, they will never understand the joys and sorrows of this journey. (From the book, "Shaikh & Disciple", page 13)
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
43.  Truth Explains As God Within Man

What is called truth cannot be found in religions, races, or languages. Truth explains as wisdom within wisdom, as the inner being within the self, and as the meaning within the explanation. (From the book, "The Wisdom of Man", page 92)
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
44.  The Two Kinds of Separation From God - The Mind And The Body

The body is the one veil which separates a true man from God. All the other veils must be torn away. All the forces of the mind, all the miracles, must be cast off, so they can no longer deceive us and turn us into snakes, scorpions, dogs, foxes, demons, and crazy men. We must tear the veils of the mind out by the roots and throw them away. Only then can we establish the connection with God.

The heart is the mirror which can help us to form that connection of devotion to God. We must see ourselves in that mirror and speak to God. (From the book, "Questions of Life - Answers of Wisdom", and in the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship Calendar for July 1998).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
45. The "Concept" Explained In "Guru Mani", That Moves Our Life Forward

Man, appearing on this earth forgets God, and falls into many a trap. He does not know to seek himself, although God exists in man. This "Guru Mani" is to explain this concept in detail. (From the Forward, in the book, "Pearl of Wisdom or Guru Mani").
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
46. The Work of The Shaikh & Disciple Is To Become One (1)

While the Shaikh is still in the world, you must learn Wisdom from Him. After He is gone, you will consider whatever the mind brings and whatever your thoughts bring as Wisdom, but it will be just a dream of your mind. (From the book, "Shaikh and Disciple", page 22).

47. The Work of The Shaikh & Disciple Is To Become One (2)

While you are with the Shaikh, He can show you directly what is right and what is wrong. So, with each breath, in each moment, you must be with the Shaikh. If you are alert you will receive whatever you need. That will be your hayat, your eternal life. That will be your wisdom. (From the book, "Shaikh and Disciple", page 22).

48. The Work of The Shaikh & Disciple Is To Become One (3)

You must make a sincere effort to do this. You must fully intend to receive whatever the Shaikh gives and understand its weight. All the time you are wandering, you will not be able to cultivate that crop. You must correct yourself and take in every point. Every point is very heavy. Every word is heavy. Every look is heavy. Every thought is heavy. You must carefully receive them all and keep them in your heart. Then you will be able to benefit from these things. Think about this. (From the book, "Shaikh and Disciple", page 22).

49. The Work of The Shaikh & Disciple Is To Become One (4)

If you do not receive hayat, eternal life, while you are alive and the Shaikh is alive, you will not be able to receive it when the Shaikh is gone. That cannot be done. What you receive at that time will be only a dream; you can see it while you sleep, but when you awaken it disappears. (From the book, "Shaikh and Disciple", page 26).

50. The Work of The Shaikh & Disciple Is To Become One (5)

When the Shaikh is alive, he is right there in front of you, whether you are awake or asleep. That is not a dream. He is there in front of you. You can talk to Him. He can tell you what is right and wrong, what is good and bad, and you can understand. But if you let the allotted time pass, you will never be able to understand. (From the book, "Shaikh and Disciple", page 26).

51.  The Work of The Shaikh & Disciple Is To Become One (6)

You must learn all this while both you and the Shaikh are alive. Then you will remember it even when He is not there. If you can merge with Him now, then this learning will remain with you. If you do not merge with Him now, if you think you can accomplish this later, you are only deceiving yourself. (From the book, "Shaikh and Disciple", page 26).

52.  The Work of The Shaikh & Disciple Is To Become One (7)

Only if you mingle your Qualities and your Wisdom with the Shaikh's will He be with you after He is gone. Then you will receive hayat, eternal life. Each child should reflect on this and put it to use. Benefit from this. Try. Amin. (From the book, "Shaikh and Disciple", pages 26 & 27).
                                                                                                                                  - go to outline
53. Our Body Is A House & School Given To Us By God, Don't Waste It (1)

At this point (in my journey - His Holiness tells us), I was told, "There is a house that was built and given to you. That house is your body..... The body is a school. It is your house, your heaven, your hell, and My Kingdom. Your freedom is there, yet your slavery is also there. Both your joys and your sorrows are there. Man-animal and Man-God are both there. All this learning is within the eight-span house of your body. If you become an insan, a true man, you will understand this. You are a Secret. I am a Mystery. (From the book, "Shaikh & Disciple: Introduction", pages 5 & 6).

54. Our Body Is A House & School Given To Us By God, Don't Waste It (2)

Within this eight-span house, half a span is your sorrow, half a span is your torpor, and one span is the fire of hell. If your can understand and discard these two spans, then you are left with six spans. Once you have understood all that is within the remaining six spans of your body, you become a man with six levels of wisdom, capable of analyzing and discovering the secrets of the 18,000 universes. Then you will understand that one handful of earth which is your heart. (From the book, "Shaikh And Disciple: Introduction", page 6).

14. Live As Little Children, As Unity & Love, Not As Separation And Differences

When we live as little children and behave as little children, what do we find? We find peace and tranquillity. We find the unity and love which embraces everyone. We may totter and fall while embracing each other, but we will do so in unity and love.

Amin.

If people can understand both the troubles they experienced earlier in their lives and the comfort and joy experienced later after meeting the Shaikh, then they will realize the True Value of the Shaikh.
